Named “Best small backup” by SFGATECar-camping gear guide, Oct. 28, 2026
4.8 out of 5 stars Rating for 4Patriots power products
“… it powers my laptop (which a lot of chargers can't do) …”— Meloney P.*
First, what it will run…
What Will It Run? More Than a Phone.
This is the difference. The 120 Watt AC outlet takes the same three-prong plug as your wall outlet. So it runs the things a USB power bank can't: your lamp, your Wi-Fi router, your laptop charger, even a fan, for devices up to 120 watts.
| Device and draw | Run time |
|---|---|
| Plugs into the 120 Watt AC outlet | |
| LED lamp · 10 W | About 10 hours |
| Wi-Fi router · 15 W | About 6 hours |
| Laptop charger · 45 W | About 2 hours |
| Fan · 40 W | About 2 hours |
| Charges from the USB ports | |
| Smartphone · 5 W | About 19 hours |
| Tablet · 10 W | About 10 hours |
Times are for one device on a full charge. The ports can be used together; they share the 96 Wh. Run times vary.

Numbers are one thing. Here's what owners say…
Hear It From Folks Who Carry One
“I love using the Voyager XL for camping and travel because I never have to worry about my phone, iPad, or laptop dying while I'm away. It easily powers everything from handheld games to LED lights, and it's even TSA approved for flying!”— Carla H.*
“I find that for every day use they are so very handy to have for my car in case I forgot to charge my phone in a rush or you need a flashlight instantly. In an emergency for instant charging power for my hearing aids or phone.”— Shirley C., October 2024*
SFGATE · October 28, 2026“Best small backup … useful for phones, headlamps, and small electronics.”— Shannon Ullman, SFGATE car-camping gear guide

So why is it $100 off right now?…
Here's Why We're Doing This
Winter storms are coming. And we'd rather the Voyager XL be in your home before the first big outage than sitting on a warehouse shelf in January.
So this month only, it's $100 off. Now $199, with FREE shipping.
We set aside 1,821 for this special. One per customer, so more families get one.
On December 1, the price goes back to $299. And once the 1,821 are gone, the offer is over. No rainchecks. No IOUs.
Here's what it is…
A Real AC Outlet, Plus Four USB Ports
Most of what keeps a dark house livable has a wall plug, not a USB cord. That's why the Voyager XL has a 120 Watt AC outlet. When the lights go out, plug your lamp into the AC outlet on the side and your phone into a USB port. The outlet gives 120 watts continuous, 180 watts peak, in pure sine wave power that's safe for laptops. The battery stores 96 Wh. Our engineers test every unit by hand before it ships, and it arrives charged.
| What it can do | USB-only power bank | Voyager XL |
|---|---|---|
| Charge phones and tablets | ✓ | ✓ |
| 120 Watt AC outlet | ✗ | ✓ |
| Run plug-in devices: a lamp, Wi-Fi router or laptop charger | ✗ | ✓ |
Straight talk: it won't run your fridge, your furnace or your house. It is for small devices. All five ports share the stored charge.
Recharge It From the Wall or the Sun
When the power is out for days, the wall outlet can't help you. Add a solar panel, and the Voyager XL refills from the sun, with no grid and no gas.
From the wall
Under 90 minutes with the included AC charging cable. Top it off before the storm hits.
From the sun
About 3–4 hours in good sun with the 4Patriots 40-Watt Folding Solar Panel, sold separately.
Sunlight, weather and conditions affect charging time.
- DC charging input
- 2 × USB-A
- 2 × USB-C (60W + 100W)
- USB port button
- LCD screen
- AC port button
- 120V AC outlet (pure sine wave)
Plus a built-in flashlight in the corner bumper.
And three things owners mention most…
Three Plain Reasons to Keep One Close
1. No gas, no fumes, no engine
It has a small cooling fan and can get warm in use, so give it some air.
2. 2.1 lb, carry-on OK
At 96 Wh, it's under the 100 Wh carry-on limit, so no airline approval is needed. Carry-on only, never checked. Check your airline's rules before you travel.
3. A battery rated for 2,000+ charge cycles
Inside is a LiFePO4 battery rated for 2,000+ charge cycles, about 5.5 years of daily charging. (A cycle rating is a battery spec, not a warranty.)

You may still be asking…
Will a Power Bank Be Enough?
Is it a “generator”? Will it run my fridge?
No. It's a solar power bank, about the size of a Bible, made for small devices.
It has 96 Wh of stored energy and a 120 Watt AC outlet for devices up to 120 watts, like a lamp or Wi-Fi router.
It won't run a fridge, freezer, furnace or your whole house.
$199 is a lot. Why not use a phone charger?
If a phone is all you need to charge, a basic charger may fit.
A USB phone charger can't run your lamp, your Wi-Fi router or your laptop charger. The Voyager XL's 120 Watt AC outlet can, for devices up to 120 watts.
You also get four USB ports and a LiFePO4 battery rated for 2,000+ cycles. Meloney P. says, “it powers my laptop (which a lot of chargers can’t do).”*
Will it run my CPAP?
About 2 hours for a compatible basic unit at 40 W, with no heat or humidifier. Not a full night.
Run time depends on your machine and settings.
If you need all-night CPAP backup, this is not sized for that job. Check your machine's requirements before buying. Not sure what your machine draws? Call 1-800-680-8504 and read us the label.
Does it get warm or make noise?
It can get warm, and it has a cooling fan.
There is no gas, no fumes and no engine.
Keep it ventilated and follow the operating instructions in your manual.
How do I charge it, and which solar panel works?
Use the included AC charging cable at home. It arrives charged.
For off-grid charging, use the 4Patriots 40-Watt Folding Solar Panel, sold separately. Allow about 3–4 hours in suitable sun.
From the wall, it recharges in under 90 minutes with the included AC charging cable. Follow your manual; charging conditions affect the time.
Can I take it on a plane?
Carry-on only, never checked.
Its 96 Wh capacity is below the 100 Wh carry-on limit, so no airline approval is needed for that capacity.
Check with your airline before you travel and follow its storage and use rules.
What if I don't like it?
Contact USA-based customer service and return it within the 90-day satisfaction-guarantee period.
Lithium batteries may need special return packaging; a restocking fee can apply.
Follow the return instructions supplied by the customer service team.
